This might be the wrong place to post this, and it may be old news to some, but I happened to be doing some interior work on my 480 and discovered a new (at least to me) way to clean all the cabinets inside. All the cabinets have that glossy veneer and I have used several products in the past to try to make them shine like new, but with only limited success.

On a whim, I used some Maguires plastic cleaner. It is the plastic cleaner that I have for the Isinglass (sp?). It worked great. I mean really great. My cabinets now look like new and the shine off of them can't be beat. I have always used a polish on them, but now they seem to be much more brilliant in the shine.

This is trivial I know, but I was so happy that I could make a difference, I thought I would share.:smt038

BTW, I used it on several places that has the black melamine and it alwo worked great, without streaking like other cleaners.

Brimanst-

The polish works great on the veneers.... to make it last, put a coat of wax on them. We polish and then wax the interior cabinets, counters, and the bathrooms (pretty much all hard surfaces) every 3 months.... they look better than new and ours have A LOT of use on them.

Hi Guys, Just so I understand what your saying, you use the Meguiars plastic cleaner on the wood veneer of the cabinets, and/or the inside (black) of the cabinet ?. You are also waxing these surfaces as well? Thanks

Tried the plastic polish yesterday after reading this thread. Worked Great! I used it on the counter top and also the black front of the fridge. WOW! Thanks for the tip.
