cleaning windshield windows.....

Big thing here. Do not use those pads for anything other than the glass cleaning. When you wash them do not use fabric softener. It will come out of the pads and back onto the glass.

Yes! I do clean windows and glass for a living

thanks for the tip...........

I'm going to give it a try, on the "windows from Hell" on my 470. It's not just about reaching the inside of these Taylor Made windows, but truly I have never seen anything like this as I can't get them clean no matter what I try and I have tried 15 different things. It's like there was some kind of film or something on them that never got removed .....

Cliff,
I have 2 of those 1 for the boat 1 for the car, if you have some water spots I first use some Bar Keepers Friend in liquid paste then follow it with the Stoner Invisible Glass in the aerosol spray can it sprays on white so you see where you're spraying it then use a microfiber cloth. If you use it on a patio door be careful it's that clean. I get it at HD it's only $2.49 there.

Yep I carry one can on the boat & have a couple at home it's the best stuff I've ever used, just did all of the outside of the windows last weekend at home.

Cliff, fly me out and I will fix this problem  I may be headed to a house in RI to fix another's problem.

Before you spend more money on cleaning solutions keep this in your mind. You MUST remove the residue from all those cleaning solutions BEFORE you try to get to the root of the problem! The more cleaners you try the deeper the issue will be. Think of it as wax on a floor, it must be removed once in awhile.

And the way to remove the residue is....? Vinegar and newspaper?

To start? EzGlide and denatured alcohol to remove the build up of cleaners. Make sure the cleaner is in a bottle that has never been used for anything else and rinse it out before using it. NO NEWSPAPER! Use a glass polishing cloth. All of that stuff is a myth! Wipe clean the glass and repeat using a squeegee. Add Unger glass cleaning solution to the mix of Ez and alcohol and mist the window glass to get it wet and keep the bottle near by. Cover your dash with an old towel. Now this is the tough part, find a glass polishing compound and compound the inside of your glass first. If you don't really know how to do this DONT! Go online Window Cleaning Resources and MrHardwater are good places to start.

Sometimes when the glass is made it has an oily residue that is left behind, it's nobody's fault it just happens. You can't see the issue till things like this happen. Then folks try everything to fix the problem all the over the counter cleaners do is compound the problem.
