Was curious if anyone has changed out the float on the starboard tank on their 400 sedan? Whats involved? anyone know where I can buy the part? Parts manual says its 19.75inches. Do they sell this exact size or do I purchase one of these " for tanks 15-24 inches?

Also has anyone cleaned their diesel fuel tanks on this boat? I had it done two years ago but I wasn't their when they did it. Mexican diesel is nasty stuff.

Thks in advance.

I assume you a going to change out the whole sender assembly... I just called Florida Marine tanks which makes the tanks for Searay and gave them the tank part number. The new sender is $50 plus 20 for S&H. 22023074 at a length of 13” x 12” for my 400DA.

What does 13" x 12" mean? I'm changing my senders too. I was considering going with these http://usmarineproducts.com/osc/product_info.php?cPath=46_81&products_id=298 ....

Thoughts?

Bill (ZZ13) and I have switched to Royce Flexi-sensors. I have been very happy with mine, and they are more accurate than the originals that were in the boat. I still am learning to trust them (having only had them for a partial season so far), but use the "fuel used" readings from smartcraft as a backup baseline "full" indication each time I fill up.

13 x 12" refers to the fixed arm and movable arm. I believe the 13" is the fixed arm and hinges to the 12" which moves up and down for tank level. Also might want to look at WEMA fuel senders.

Mistake on measurment...it was 25.75" from bottom to flange (tape measure)
SSS/SSL 25.0 SSS/SSL Diesel, Fuel or Water Level Sensor (4 - 60 in.)
Length: Length - 25.0 in. -Subtotal: $59.55

Total: $63.02

Not yet installed....but I took at 3/4" rod x 25" long and slide it into the tank. No issues with clearance at all...at an angle while installing then when the headroom is ok, moved into vertical position. No issues...

Is there a drain plug on our tanks? It would be nice to clean them. Our diesel in the Philippines is probably worst than Mexico.

I have a vendor drawing of the starboard tank and no drain plug is shown on the drawing.

Bill / Jim, how are you guys liking the Flexi-senders? Do you think they will hold up any better than the OEM?
I like them a lot. Much more stable and accurate than oems. As far as reliability, they were only $80 each so not concerned if they fail early.
