It may have been discussed, I searched 1st, but did find the answer.

2nd year on my 230 and the canvas is covered in pollen stains. I need to clean it?? Opinions?

Can it go in a laundry mat? if not how can I clean it.

Thanks in advance.

Mike

I use Woolite in cool water as mfg recommends with a soft brush. I use 303 repellent treatment once it dries.I remove mine from the boat however. So 303 may have to wait for yours.

You should keep up with rinsing it during pollen season and after a day of boating.

So Dave your saying you could wash it while fastened to the boat, am I understanding you correctly?
Past couple of times i have washed it in the driveway and its a pain in the a@*...picks up every little spec (it black).

Its only 2 years old, rinse it, get one of those hose gun attachments with a soap reservoir and get the woolite on, let it soak, dont let it dry, soft brush it with a long handled brush then rinse. Any tough soiled spots work it with a stiffer brush.

Weave, at end of season I remove and wash smaller sections at my shop on a commercial sink with drainboards. The larger peices get washed on the cement floor on a large plastic tarp. Hang to dry and then 2 application of 303, install in spring. And yes driveway sucks.

Try Meguiars canvas cleaner at West Marine. $7.29 comes in a spray bottle and works great. Spray on and either rinse off or for tougher stains soft brush and rinse

Wash it with a soft boat brush while on the boat. You may need a ladder, but it goes very quickly that way.

DO NOT spray the 303 while it is on the boat. The easiest way I have found is to hang it over a make-shift clothesline.

Check out the Sunbrella web site for cleaning instructions because if you have any mildew you can you use diluted bleach with soap. But check the web site for specific instructions

I use a stiff boat brush on mine to loosen any dirt/pollen when it is dry. I then hose off afterwards. Seems to work well enough for me. No chemicals used at all.
