Does anyone have experience using other product/s other than Walker to clean AIRSEP filters? Or should i stick to using the Walker kit only?

but what are you going to spray on it after it's clean? That's what traps the dust particles and keeps the air going to the engine clean.

Walker has a cleaning recommendation on their website. Here it is: http://www.walkerairsep.com/pdf/tech/Cleaning_Instructions.pdfMark - when you pulled off your airsep was there any oil that leaked out? I am guessing that ours have never been cleaned so we purchased a cleaning kit from Cummins. Today I had some time to pull off the airseps and when I took the first one off, I had some oil drip down into the bilge. Since I was short on time I just replaced it and called my mechanic. He said it's normal but there was a pretty decent stream of oil that leaked out. Enough to worry me. I'm not going to attempt this project until I have some time to do it properly. I'm especially not looking forward to removing the airsep from the port engine!
Just wondering what your experience was and also - do you know how often this should be done? Annually? Lastly - if ours are now 6 years without a cleaning, is it better to just get new filters and start new?
Thanks,
Sandy

Sandy - my CATs may be different, but I have a check valve on the oil return line. If this gets clogged, oil will back up in your filter. If you have them, they are not expensive to replace...
