We are planning a trip for August from Clayton to Kingston and then on to Ottawa.
Can anyone help me with route planning from Clayton to Kingston (Conferderation Basin)? If you have a set of GPS waypoints that you could e-mail, that would be great. I may have charts, but, need to do some hunting. Any help would be appreciated.

Use the NOAA charts on line or one of the route planning web sites. Clayton to Kingston is very straightforward. Shortest route is via the Wolfe Island cut (East end of Wolfe Island).

Yeah, I have the charts, just can't put my finger on them. Geogarage Marine seems to work pretty good.

Like ktcanuck said. it's a pretty straight shot from Clayton to Kingston. I am more familiar with the rest of your route from Kingston to Ottawa though, living in Ottawa and having our boat slipped in Portland on the Big Rideau. We actually just went from Portland to Kingston and back last (long) weekend so if you want any info on that part of your journey, let me know. I will say, if you are not familiar with the Rideau locks, plan lots of time! It is much more enjoyable if you do.

Have a great trip! Your website is fantastic, by the way. Let us know if you need anything along your way. We are on the Rideau most weekends and some weekdays. We may even pass each other in the locks as we are planning to head to the 1000 Islands via Kingston the first couple weeks of August. If you see a boat named "Four Turtles", that is us!

It sounds like there is a good possibility that we will cross paths. My wife has booked in/out flights for Syracuse on 7/31 and 8/28 respectively. I believe that we will stay in Clayton long enough to go thru the boat museum and then head to Gananoque to see a play and have dinner before we head to Kingston. We have been to Boldt Castle and Alex Bay, so, probably not going that way. We will keep an eye out for your boat.
