Connecting your I-phone to the radio transmitter: A lot of companies, like Belkin or Kensington, produce a FM transmitter. You plug one of those into the headphone jack of your iPhone. Then all you need to do is find an "empty" radio frequency (you only hear static) and tune the transmitter to that same frequency. You can get transmitters that even include a cradle for the iPod that, when connected to the lighter plug, will even charge it. It will plug into any 12v power jack you have on your boat...

okay thanks than i need a new Headunit.
i dont like the fm transmitter we have to much fm traffic.

I think it will work but the display wont. I had the xmd2 and upgraded cmd4 and had to replace the remote. there were some posts on this site that had compatibility charts.

I had the same setup and the XMD2 won't work with an AUX input since there is no CD changer jack. I bought a used XMD1 and then did the hack on the changer cable to wire in an AUX jack. It works great. The best part is that I can still use the original remote. Changing the remote was an issue for me since it fits into a molded spot on the dash and all the new models are different sizes.

That sounds good can you give me more information about your hack

Replace the unit with an XMD1 and find a clarion C-bus CD changer cable (13-pin DIN - round, not square). I got both of these on E Bay.

Cut the Cd changer cable and use an ohm meter to find the correct wires using these instructions:
http://planetnautique.com/vb3/showt...ting-iPod-MP3-to-Clarion-XMD-1&highlight=xmd1

I put a switch on the panel next to the stereo head unit. When the switch is ON, the stereo goes into Accessory mode and accepts AUX inputs via the CD changer cable.

Make sure you find a CD changer cable made for or by Clarion. Some of the ones on E bay listed as Universal (Aiwa, etc.) will not work.
