Anybody know where the terminal or junction box for the speakers is on a 370AC? My aft deck and bridge speakers are dead, inside is fine:huh:.

I think they all just come off of the amplifier that's mounted behind the cabinet on the starboard side near the companion way door.

I did take the back of the cabinet out but only saw electrical components. I will look again for the amp. thanks

I did find the amp. One wire bad and repaired. Real problem is, I have 4 blown speakers on the aft deck and bridge.

What makes you believe the speakers are blown, physical condition or sound quality? Amp settings and or source signal can give you what sounds like a blown speaker. What wire needed repaired?

Cones were completely deteriorated. I should have pulled the speakers first. One of the speaker wires running to the aft deck was corroded also. Problem resolved with new speakers.
Next problem my 8kw westerbeke too noisey in the salon. Anybody ever had a sound blanket made for one of these?

Yea, fried cones would indicate speaker problems, amp setting and source signal makes little difference when they are cooked.
Have not heard of a sound shield made from scratch for a Westerbeke. But I know buying a sound shield for a kohler is quite pricey.

This is not at all uncommon and is typically caused by sun and ozon. I know of one marine speaker that is popular as an OEM, and are known to do this as ealry as only 2 seasons old. You should be rocking now with a couple new pairs.

We have the westerbeke in our 370ac. Ours had the shield bottom on it from the factory but nothing else. No sides or top. After really looking at it close it appears that the shield would not clear the deck, so the rest was never installed. It,s a ahme because the westerbeke 9.6 really screams at its run rpm of 3600. So I made a 3 sided shield myself. It cover the top and 3 sides. Could not do the side next to the stairs to the galley. But it did help a lot. Probably knocked down the db levels by maybe 30. Also spoke to searaywearables about the noise and they suggested new motor mounts, and mabe another muffler system to try and help.
Tere was a company on this site that made a in line suppressor but not sure their still business. I used the foil cover sheathing from lowes to build my shield. 1/2 " . That's all the Clarence I had from the top to the bottom of the salon deck. Their was never aa chance for the factory shield to fit. I think my boat must have been one of the 1st with the larger westerbeke 9.6. The admiral hates the noise even outside the boat from the exhaust. If it breaks I,m certainly going to a different lower rpm unit and not the westerbeke. Hope this helps. You can build your own.

Thanks for responding. Mine is the 8kw west. Did you build a frame or is the material self supporting?
