Clarion M5170 Wiring

Does anyone know if the RCA plugs on the 6 inch grey wire leads are inputs or outputs? Thanks in advance.

The Auxiliary is an input, the sub out is an obvious output. If you just have one set it is more than likely a pre amp out or sub out.

I figured I had an old iPod and a 50/50 chance. It was an input. Of course, in pulling the stereo out to make the connection, something went screwy with the pre amp out, and I lost my cockpit speakers. Inside plays, but not the outside. I was planning on upgrading it this winter, anyway.

make sure head unit is set to "rear" for pre amp out... the cockpit speakers will not play if it is not set; every time you take power off head unti you have to reset. For 38 bucks hook a fusion Bt 100 to the input or auxiliary .. turn deck to auxiliary and you can stream any Bluetooth device to your head unit; works awesome.
