Anyone planning a stereo replacement and have one of these old heads for sale? Looked on eBay and not many of these available - trying to stay simple and replace Vs. have to rewire all. Yes, I know should replace with fusion, new remotes, new amp, and some new JL's but trying to keep simple and not spend $3K.

Thanks so much for offer but my understanding is they changed the units between v5 and v6 and the remotes are not compatible. If anyone knows different feel free to correct me.
 
Just puts a new Fusion in and have the head unit, wired remote, and cd changer available. Wife wants it out of the dining room ASAP!

Do you have a CMD5 to get rid of also??
 
just a heads up..

there is nothing to rewire on the new Clarions..
they are literally unplug the old one and plug in the new one. have done them in the past for friends.

im upgrading mine this weekend.. im putting in an M505 which has built in 2 zone and 3 sets of 4v preouts.. F / R /Sub

the old oval remotes will work with a crossover cable but there is a good chance you will loose the display..

now if you upgraded to the new wired remote you need to replace cable and drill a bigger hole.. again not that hard on most boats..

also if your going to upgrade your speakers i recommend the FS-6021 by fusion

they are much better than the JLAudio m650 in reviews, testing, and hearing them in person,
the JL's sound muddy by comparison, and they are double the money with a lower RMS and lower DB rating.. 87db vs 90db on the Fusion..

I'm looking to change out my xmd3 for either a cmd4 or cmd5 (something that will work with the oval remotes) but also has 5 channel RCA output (4 speakers and sub pre-out). anyone still have one to sell?
 
I have a 2003 280 da. The face in my remote doesn't show anything. The remote works fine, I just cannot see what station I'm on. Does anyone have an old one they want to get rid of?
 
I decided to swap mine out for a Fusion system. Thanks to those that offered.
