Just saw the ClampTite, it is a tool to make hose clamps out of regular stainless or monel type wire. It seems like it might be a good thing to have in the toolbox. With a small roll of wire you can have any size hose clamp. I wonder how well just twisting the wire together will hold over time? I guess for a quick fix its ok. They show it fixing all kinds of other things as well, like a fanbelt :wow:.

Where did you find this tool. Do you have a link?

I saw it demonstrated and bought one at the Chicago sail boat show, it looked like a good fix in emergency's and all around use, $50 dollors at show.

Seen it at the shows...looks good but, I dont think I would ever really use it.
I thought over time the wire would cut into the hose.

Wouldn't it be easier to keep various size hose clamps aboard? Even if they're crappy Home Depot ones - just enought to get you home. A box full of assorted hose clamps saved my AC trip last summer.
