Hi all. Looks like I need new props for my bravo 3. The shop is pricing the OEMs for $850 a piece. Does that seem about right? Are there cheaper alternatives without giving up performance and longevity?

I have the bravo 3 on a 5.7L efi. Max WOT as labeled on the engine is 4400-4800 rpm.

Any advice is appreciated.

Hill Marine has better options than OEM

I replaced my 24 Pitch 3x3 OEMs with Hill Marine 4x3 props on my twin Rinker 342 Fiesta Fee with two MX6.2L/bravo III's. Was spendy, BUT, I reduced the plaining time from zero to plane by almost 8 seconds. OEM props about 19 Seconds to plane, Hill Marine props, 10-11 seconds to plane. Didn't really lose any top end speed, planning speed dropped from about 26 to 24 MPH, and fuel economy went up slightly. Wanna say I spent 1,100/set x 2 but was worth it if you plan on keeping the boat. Call Hill Marine and ask for Ron. Good guy. He'll give you a good conversation and knowledgable feedback. P.S. don't bring up Volvo dual props...…..you don't have enough time......

Prop gods. The guy was awesome to me. I even exchanged twice to get the performance/pitch I needed.

There are so many things taken in to consideration when the manufacturer sets up a given prop for any boat there will be a give and take if you deviate from original . Most people just look at performance as the most important facture. My only thought here is if you increase performance how will this increase in load effect the life of the equipment.

I had Hill Marine 4x4 props on my 340da and there were awesome. They had Better handling around the dock, lower time to plane, lower planning speed, better bite in the corner as well as in larger seas. If pitch on the stock props was good, meaning WOT was in the correct range then drop a pitch going to the Hill Marine props because there is more surface area so they slip less.

I 2nd Prop Gods. Ken is extremely knowledgeable. Tell him what you are trying to accomplish. On his recommendation...I went to SS 4 blade. Now SD240 gets on plane quicker.
