For those looking for something boating related to do this weekend, the end of the season festival in Chestertown might be a choice. We went last year and had a great time. The ships are very impressive and come from many places. If going by water, the trip takes about an hour from the mouth of the Chester River and the Bay. Dockage is limited or non-existent, so the dink is probably necessary.

The schooner Sultana will end her sailing season by inviting the Bay's tall ships and historic vessels to join her in Chestertown, Md., for a weekend of fun. This year the Pride of Baltimore II, the schooner Virginia and the Kalmar Nyckel will be just a few of the visitors. The boats will be available for open sails on Saturday and for tours on Sunday. There will also be a fundraising concert Friday night at the Prince Theater. Chestertown, Md. Fri. 5-8 p.m.; concert at 8 p.m.; Sat. daysails 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and 2-4:30 p.m.; Sun. open house tours noon-5 p.m. 410-778-5954; www.schoonersultana.org.
