1987 Sea Ray 300 Weekender Modified for Lake Michigan fishing. Autopilot, 24 mile radar, garmin gps/
Engines
twin 350 Mercruiser
Bought my first big boat (1987 30' Weekender) last summer. Bought it specifically for fishing Lake Michigan so I hit up an old charter captain who was retiring and snagged his boat from him. It is decked out for big lake fishing and had an awesome first summer on it with family and friends catching some monster fish and swimming in the cool 80 foot deep area of the lake.

I guess if I had one question for all the seasoned veterans out there, where would I pick up some replacement parts? I noticed the fuel gauges are going in and out, could use some switch work on the panel soon. I would guess it all to be typical maintenance for a boat of this age. A majority of the stuff I can handle myself, and have done myself.

Otherwise I have been extremely happy as has been the family with our new home on the water.

Welcome to CSR. There are several of us here on CSR that fish the "Big Lake" We are out of Holland. Which port do you call home? Here is an old pic of our 40DA set up for fishing:

Founder pounder is a good source for the type of parts you seem to be looking for.

Fish On!

I am down in St. Joe out of Eagle Point Marina. I actually bought my boat from a charter captain out of Holland, JD Lady Charters if you guys remember him.

I do remember the boat name but don't think I have ever met the captain. I have never fished out of St. Joe. However, we fish several tournaments each year and often when we do the South Haven tourney we end up fishing off of the St. Joe pier heads. Seems like when out of South Haven we either end up down by St. Joe or 35 miles out targeting steelhead.

He was out of the Eldean Shipyard up in Holland. I am getting a crew together to fish the Steelheaders Schu's Summer Challenge in May. Only going to do the amateur side, I can't afford to keep up with the big dogs in the open division.
