chattanooga to knoxville for TN/GA game in October

A few of us from Erwin marine are planning a trip up to see the game this fall. anyone else interested in making a convoy? so far we have about 3 boats.

We would maybe join you from West Knoxville to downtown, depending on my work schedule. Are you all going by boat to Riverbend? We're thinking of coming down to Chattanooga for it.
 
yes we'll tie up near Calhouns. This is pending gas not going any higher than it is now. Our marina caught up last week to the pump prices and it was one big .50 per gallon jump. :(

no we dont do Riverbend. A friend went one year and said he didnt like all the intoxicated boaters that didnt know how to raft up.
he had one ask to tie up and he declined. then the guy said he was gonna tie to him anyway. my buddy told him if he tied up to him he'd shoot a hole in his boat and sink him right there. lol. my boat is not new by any means but its my pride and joy and i dont want nobody drunk damaging it. my insurance doesnt cover "uninsured boaterist" that strike me either. lol it goes under regular damage coverage.

Sue and I already decided we would do Riverbend from the Marina - or from downtown on foot! We've had enough of the pontoon boat idiotson Lake Allatoona on the 4th of July...
 
loved meeting you Carter! the rest of the crew will be rafting out today after 11 or so at the dam if you want to join them.
just hang a left outside the marina entrance and you should see them. Imagine That III can let you know an exact time. we had a little too much fun last night so the 11 o clock window they were shooting for might be off this morning...haha.
Eric and I are back at work but we'll see you next weekend!

Would love to go with the Vol Navy up to the Georgia game, however the admiral and I are expecting in October and doubt I can pull this one off. I am also planning on doing riverbend next month. It will be my first time. Would love to raft up with experienced boaters. Hope you will reconsider. Either way would love to meet other club searay members.
 
We're still planning on coming down for a day or two of Riverbend (first time). We'd also love to meet up with others who know the area and festival.
 
we are a month away from the big trip! We have extra impellers and such ordered. Having some minor canvas repairs done just in case of bad weather. Today I start the menu for the trip. Anyone else on board yet? if so, what are your plans so far?

Are you sure GA fans can tie up there. The Vol Navy may sink you. (Grin)

Also if you would like to go, we have to let the organizers know so they can set up a slip at Loudon on Wednesday night for everyone before they run out of spots
 
yes, m.m. thats right. If the weather holds steady for the next couple of weeks I think we will have a very nice trip. Not much fall foliage but still nice enough to not have to run the genny at night.

Just wanted to give a summary of our trip. About 25 boats went the 350 mile trip. The weather was amazing, all boats ran well and had no issues. We were especially pleased with ours. We avg. 1.1-1.2 MPG overall and came in under our gas budget(yay). On the way home our fill up marina ran out of fuel for us, so some of us had to overnight and wait on the fuel truck the next day. No big deal as we were gonna spend the night somewhere on the water anyway. They compd us the slip for the inconvenience so that saved us 45.00.
The game was quite a nail biter(went into OT). Even though TN lost it was ok. Sometimes a good game is as good as a win.
So after months of mechanical preparation and planning it is over. It was certainly a trip of a lifetime. A few of us said we may do it again.
So now we begin planning a spring trip southward toward Lake Gunterville, Al. Maybe the Goose Pond area.
