Going to Charleston, SC Friday to check it out for marinas. Any suggestions on where to stay? Probably only 1 night.

My first choice is always the DoubleTree on Church Street in the heart of the historic district. An easy walk to restaurants, bars, shopping. There is also a Hampton Inn and an Embassy Suites on Meeting Street but they are a bit of a walk. If you want luxury there is Charleston Place. If you want to save a few bucks there is a Hampton Inn across the bridge in Mt Pleasant.

I always wanted to go to Charleston, been to Spartanburg, Greenville, Easley, Clemson, Myrtle Beach. Charleston is next. Have a great time

Courtyard on Lockwood is right next to City Marina. Charleston Harbor Resort is right next to Charleston Harbor Marina. Quality Inn and Suites at Patriots Point is a budged option 1 mile from CHM.

I have to visit one of my work locations in Charleston occasionally. I stay at the Hampton Inn off Ashley Fosgate road. It's cheap (<$100) clean and easy to access the interstate. To the marina is about 15 minutes.

Embassy Suites on Meeting Street is reasonable and right on Marrion Park

Mike, I don't have any particular recommendations on where to stay, but I can help with boating related and site seeing questions. Feel free to PM.
