A friend off mine needs the switch replaced ask for help. With the B3's he has to spend about 150.00 on needed tools to do the job.1st does it really take 5-6hrs per book to do job?2nd is it worth buying the speciality tools that you won't use again.Or just take to shop. Thanks

Its a real tough job to do it right. And use the "Mercruiser" parts only forget "Serria"
The problem is running the wires into the boat. You can always cheat and just splice the new unit in and it should take 10 min to change. You buy them in a set of two. Drive Limit switch & Drive indication. I spliced mine and it was working fine. I had to have my drive removed
( for other reasons ) and while they where at it the ran the wires properly unit a POS Serria unit now it stopped working. Good luck.
