Changing racor filters on 420 sedan bride

The SR owners manual does not mention turning off the fuel lines prior to changing the racor engine filters. Is it possible to change the filters without closing the fuel valves? Secondly, will turning both selectors on the Onan generator panel to off cut off fuel flow to racor filter and allow me to take the top off the filter wIthout fuel continuing to flow to the filter?

If this is the case, then there is no need to prime the Raycor with fuel manually?

Simply leave the top loose for air to escape and turn on the fuel valve?

If the Racor is mounted higher than the level of fuel in the tanks, it will not flow. Otherwise, it will. Cut them off anyway.
