Change of Scenery

Thanks for the helpful tips! I'm just worried about the marina decal located by the fuel tank.. I don't know how I feel about pointing a heat gun in that area, even if it's only for a few seconds lol

You're probably ok by the filler cap if you tape it but be careful around the fuel tank vent on the hull side...you can get some strong vapor when you're close to it.

After hours of excruciating sticker peeling in the hot sun, I was able to successfully remove all of the bow graphics from my boat this weekend. Even with a heat gun and tons of Goo Gone, this job was a pain in the ass! I guess that's what happens when decals are baked into a gelcoat after 14 years lol Anyway, I'm super happy with the results and cannot wait to tackle the stern this upcoming weekend! As for the window tint and black canvas, I think I'm going to hold off on that for now. I realized that my boat is not pure white, but an eggshell color, so the blue and tan interior compliments that color much better than black would. Anyway, here are some progress pics!

There is some minor "ghosting" in the gelcoat, but it is only noticeable if you are standing right next to the boat and deliberately looking for flaws. I plan on compounding/polishing her when I take her out in the Fall and I'm confident that a little buffering will take those lines right off.
