Hi all,
I boat on a in land body of water and it is very very remote when it comes to cell service, text, email and internet on your phone.
We have very high canyon walls and not always clear horizontal site however pretty good vertical line of site.

Have any of you used something like this? Any insite would be great. When searching on line there are a whole lot of options. Just looking for something that is easy to use and would be under $1200 to buy.

The globalStar service gives you a whopping 3 MB at 72 kbits / sec for $200 per month. I've used cell boosters in the past, but keep in mind they only amplify the available signal. Amplified nothing = nothing. If you are just looking to send the occasional text message you might look into Garmin's InReach series of sat units. The monthly service fee is quite reasonable and it makes for a nice emergency rescue device.
