My son is about to pull the trigger on a 1998 310 with 350 mags and V drives. The boat looks like its great shape with under 400 hours. I'm looking for input from the experts, any comments or concerns?

You've created a monster.... congrats to you and the son. Would be awesome to have a boating family.

The 310 has the double sliding door and the track can be an issue, also 1998 has goofy seating in the galley that hurts resale. Seating was changed in 1999.

Ya 27 years old and he's buying a boat that took me 51 years to afford. I tried to discourage this one only because it's bigger than mine, i'll never hear the end of it!

I hear you loud and clear on that.
I pasted a new Chevy pick-up the other day and a sign in the back window read. "My son bought me this truck, I love my son". Maybe yours will let you take it out from time to time.
