My 280 Sundancer came with the 15" LG LCD Monitor with DVD option. The marina where I keep the boat has cable tv at the dock so I purchased a coaxial cable and ran a line from the dock connection to my coax connection in the transom locker. I have tried everything on the TV set and have been unable to display any of the cable channels. All get are some fuzzy locals from the antenna on the arch.

My input selections from the TV on-screen menu are:
TV
Video (Found out this setting is for viewing DVDs)
RGB-DTV (Apparently for Satellite TV hookup)
RGB-PC (For use as a personal computer monitor)

I have tried every input selection, and still can't get to the CATV channels. There is another switch somewhere on the boat to switch over from the antenna to CATV?

Any help would be appreciated!!

My LG TV has separate channels for cable vs. antenna. You may need to change your setting for cable as well.

Scott,
Not sure what you mean by separate channels? Can you explain?

I have never used the Blomax antenna on my 480 but on my 380 DB, you had to turn the Glomax off (turn the amp switch all the down and it'll click off) before the cable would work.

Don't know where it would be on your boat... It looks like a volume switch and it's labeled "Glomax". I am, of course, assuming you have a Glomax antenna from the factory.

If you have an antenna on the arch and a coax connection in your transom locker you must have an A-B switch somewhere nearby. Mine is in the locker next to my stereo and second VHF Radio. It is just above my systems electrical panel.
Good Luck
Dan

On my 300DA...the switch is in cabinet door below the TV. If you have a small cabinet on your 280DA, below the TV...you might check in there. The switch is round switch.

Thanks so much, Doug! I'll check this out when I return to the boat later this week.

I second that location.

New question. Same boat, Same topic. There is a cable/phone connection in the aft storage locker below the main power. Is that connected to that system at all? I use a over the air HDTV box with the radar ant. Which works great since we are like 3 miles at most from the towers that pump all the channels near us.

During transient stays I would love cable if offered...

I have my dockside cable connected to the coax connection in the transom locker (aft storage locker).

Turn it fully counterclockwise until you hear it click, then follow the channel "auto program" in your tv's menu.

The Glomex amp switch is the A-B selector as well... When you turn off the antenna, it selects the cable input from the back of the boat.

That's what you are looking for.

I just had the same issue and thanks to your guys, I have something to try.
