Cat 3116 throttle won’t advance

On the way home yesterday my starboard throttle level would only advance half way??
Question
Cable bad ?
Throttle linkage problem at helm?
Problem with throttle box. where do I start???

unhook it at the governor end and try to advance it all the way. You can also try moving the governor arm with the cable disconnected to see if that moves properly. I'd guess the cable is wearing on the interior sleeve

Went to the boat to investigate the problem. Bent cable at governor. Tried to straighten it out and added grease have it working again. I had some major work done on the boat last week and a mechanic may have knocked into the cable. I have no idea where I can get a new one. Cat? Searay? Any help finding a replacement would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

That's a bummer, I’d guess it’s a part from sea ray but since they never actually made parts, maybe a teleflex or something

I’d start with the SR part from your parts manual and cross reference it to the OEM. You might find a sticker on the cable with the PN as well

Check your throttle cable. It should have a part number on it. That part # should also have the length printed on it. For example, see link below on how to ID and interpret the teleflex/morse cable part/length # ID. From there, just replace with the same cable, available at most online marine shops
