Has anyone had a problem with the hose connected to the raw water pump blowing off? I cleaned my heat exchangers and my oil cooler last month and yesterday I blew the hose off when I brought the boat up on plane. I thought I had an obstruction but when I took everything apart it was clean. I also thought maybe I just didn't tighten the hose clamp enough but it blew off a second time. I also changed the thermostat to see if maybe it was letting too much coolant through the bypass. I can run the boat at 1500 rpm no problem but the temperature is 185f, 15f more than my starboard engine. Anyone have any thoughts or suggestions to help me with this. I have no confidence in this engine right now. Thx

You have a restriction in the sea water system some where. It is usually in the transmission oil cooler, but you say you cleaned them. On the 3116, the aftercoolers are jacket cooled so that eliminates pretty much everything except the heat exchanger, the oil cooler and the exhaust elbow.

Took the elbow off today and it was pretty clean but cleaned it up nice...I will be out testing her tomorrow...hope it stays together...if not im out of ideas....thx for the heads up Frank.

How are the heat exchangers and aftercoolers? Make sure all of the water jackets are clean and see what happens.

Took the end cap off the heat exchanger and it was perfect. And took hose off the gear oil cooler and it was 90 percent clean so I decided this morning to circulate some cleaner through it. Going out right away here.
