Here are a few pics from our day trip to East Tawas from Caseville - Been boating a few years and never got the chance to get over there, Finally pulled the trigger on a "longer" run across Saginaw bay and the family loved it. Left at 9:00 and pulled into the harbor in ET at 10:00 - It is just over 25 miles on the GPS - Very friendly at the dock and tied her up for the day for $10.00 - Docks along the breakwall were HUGE - My boat looked like a toy but it worked.

Even had a pet on the boat while we were grilling. :)

My son took the wheel and drove 12+ miles on the way home - He did really well following the headings on the GPS and also working the trim tabs (boat is finiky about the tabs) He had his USCG training last year and loved being captain.

Great trip and maybe 1' waves a the most, Just a nice day.

Thanks for sharing the pics of your trip. Nice shots, especially of your son driving.

Now that you've made that initial trip, when you want to start exploring further you will find several marinas along the eastern shore of MI. You can marina hop all the way to Mackinaw Island. That's a beautiful trip that you could make in about 2 days.

We have already been looking at the map :) - With a 250 the weather / waves really play a huge part in going somplace though so it's hard to plan ahead more than a day or two.

Kids really like the boating life, My daughter (9yo) slept almost the whole way back on the rear seat. :) Must feel pretty comfortable.
