Has anyone replaced the original snap in carpet covers in the salon? Our's is frayed, kind of stained and has shrunk over years of washing it. I'm interested to know a resource for replacement?

I did about a year ago. Fabric is Top Gun. Binding is Sunbrella. Mine is attached to the floor using hooks so the cover has eyelets in it. It was a weekend sewing project using the old covers as a basis for pattern. There are no existing patterns or source for the runners. Plus, I didn't like some of the aspects of the old runners and was able to make some alterations.

One thing I found, however, the Top Gun material does not stretch nearly as much as Sunbrella so that needs to be in the calculus. Here is a pic of how I did the alterations from the original runners.

Things like this are only available from Sea Ray for about 5, maybe 7 years after production - so that option is out. Making your own is certainly an option - make sure you have OCD so you get it looking really good, though :) I like that contrasting color, TT.

Another option, obviously, is to have someone make it for you. If they're not local to where they can come to the boat, you just need to really accurate with your pattern -- you could probably use tape, for example, to "add" material to your existing runners to get them the size you want. 4" wide shrink tape, doubled over might do it. There's probably better ways for that, though - that was just the "general idea.

You might want to reach out to @KevinC here on this board to see if this is the kind of thing he does with his business.

Thanks @Lazy Daze! We could certainly make a new runner we would just need to have a template which we could use the old one as the basis.
