Three boats so far signed up. We'll be doing the June 23-27 Bahamas Fling Bimini Bay Resort trip. We'll trailer down from near Charleston a few days early. I've been discussing with Barryg on CSR, who I believe is also doing this trip. Anyone else headed over? Should be a great time!

Looking forward to meeting you all. Will be a great trip. We can start a new post towards the end of the month and call it the Bahamas Boating Fling trip to Bimini Bay June 23-27th and see who is interested in going or who has already signed up. By having yours Carolina boaters it might limit other boaters not from Carolina who are going from looking at the thread..

You'll need to send $75.00 each boat into Karen at the Bahamas Tourism office here in Plantation FL. For that you'll be part of the group-and you'll get 2 T-shirts and a nice goody bag at the captains reception the night before we leave on the 23rd and they will set up a night or two of get togethers at Bimini Bay. The guys who come over on the trip from the Bahamas office; Richard and Carlton are great guys and go out of their way to help make the trip a great one. You can also register for the fling online at the link
http://www.bahamas.com/bahamas/boating-fling-schedule-2010

If you scroll down you'll see the form to fill out and send electronically. You'll still need to mail the $75.00 in though.

See you all next month.

Barry

Thanks Barry. Should be a great trip. Lots to do to get ready. A new thread at the end of the month will be good.

Barry knows this, but I wasn't very clear in my post: the Carolina Boaters group is not part of the Carolinas forum on CSR. The Carolina Boaters is a small Yahoo group (~15 members as of today) for organizing boating trips in and near the Carolinas, and not specifically for Sea Rays, although I think nearly all are CSR members and Sea Ray owners so far. Bimini is a ways from the Carolinas, so we may have to update our group description to drop the "in or near the Carolinas" !

Hello-posted the below on a thread for the June 2 Bimini fling. I think the Harbour Towne marina for launching and truck/trailer storage is the best deal for that. Have fun.

I think there are a few folks on the board planning to go to Bimini with the June 2-6 Bahama fling (also some going over for Memorial Day). If you are trailering to Ft. Lauderdale I found that the Harbour Towne Marina has boat ramps and charges $8 a day for truck and trailer parking in a secure site. They are about 4 miles south of the Bahia Mar resort. I called the 15th street ramp which is closer but they are not really set up for long term (more than 24 hours) parking.

Dockage for my 26' SR265 at Bahia Mar is $56 plus electricity, may be cheaper at Harbour Towne or 15th street (they did say they have dockage available).

Looking forward to the trip and meeting fellow CSR folks. Here are phone numbers:

Bahia Mar marina: 954-627-6309

15th street ramp: 954-828-5423

Harbour Towne Marina: 954-926-0300

Doubt I'll be able to make it this year but thanks for the heads up. I would love to make this trip but don't think I have enough planning time this year.

Thanks Jim.
