need to have one of my quadrajets rebuilt.at the end of last season noticed a fuel smell after shutting down, found the carb was leaking internally after shutting off.not sure if the floats a problem or needle/seat.
anyway is there someone can recommend to me to have it rebuilt, want someone good who knows what they are doing.
don't want to buy a rebuilt off the shelf as who knows who rebuilds it.I'm in Amity Harbor so hopefully someone knows of someone local.

thanks for any help....

Allstate Carburetor 143 Brightside Avenue, Central Islip 631-631-234-8327.
I've had several Marine and Automotive Quadrajets done by them over the years and all have been great. He did the numbers matching one for my 68 GTO and the spare I have for that car.
I actually have a Marine one he did for me for sale. I used it for a couple of hours on one of my old motors and then the other motor went on me so I decided to repower both. Since this carb was just rebuilt I held on to it as a spare and never used it. I've since sold that boat.
My new boat has diesels so I don't need it as a spare anymore.
It's a real marine Quadrajet not a converted automotive Quadrajet.

+1 for Allstate. They rebuilt my carb on my '63 Vette. Looks and works like new. Very little adjustment needed when I reinstalled it.
