Hi all, First time poster and very new member. We purchased a 1990 35 DA this summer. The boat was VERY well maintained over the years. As I am trying to take just of good if not better care of her, I noticed that the canvas windows were getting cloudy or a hint of yellowing along with getting stiff. After talking with NUMEROUS people, they all said the same thing "buy new windows". Ill say this "I AM NOT JEWISH" but i am going to look into alternatives, lol. These windows are expensive. Beleive it or not I found a product that work AMAZINGLY and am not connected or affiliated with them. I just want all of us boat owners to know about it. The product is called "clear view" made by Aurora. They are out of canada http://www.auroramarine.com/aurora/catalog/01190/index.html
Pros for this item = FANTASTIC CLEAR WINDOWS AND VERY FLEXIBLE AFTER APPLICATION
Cons = A BIT OF ELBOW GREASE NEEDED
I have to say I dont recommend things often but after redoing my canvas windows I would recommend this product to anyone. It is not a real cheap item but it is VERY cheap when considering new windows alltogether.

Sorry no pics but wife saw difference from old and reconditioned and thought they were new windows.

Hope to be involved more with CSR forum chats over the winter seeing here on lake mich we are limited to using our vessals 7 months out of the year darnit.......

Happy boating to all.....

First of all, thanks for the info on a usefull product. Secondly ( And I'm holding my Navy "Deck Ape") temper like you would't believe, whats with the "I am not Jewish" crack? W.T.F. over!

I had new clear vinyl (.030 polished) replaced in mine for $75ea. It turned out great.

Thats not a bad deal, looks awesome. Did you just take to a local upholstery shop, or a "boat" upholstry shop? Now just get the "Novus" polish and cleaner and they will stay looking like that.

Hey Todd, They look great! My fronts look like your original shot, did a local canvas guy do the work and is the "Glass" the same thickness as original?

Yes I had a local canvas shop (King's Marine canvas) here in Seattle do it for me. He has done canvas work on all my previous boats, is very high quality and reasonable prices. He used a higher grade material than the factory product. I'm happy with the outcome but the original canvas is now 10 years old and I'd like to replace it possibly next spring. There are a few changes I will make from the original design. This window replacement has been great for the last 3 seasons we've had the boat.

LOL, What I meant by the "jewish" comment was that I'm not so cheap as to where I wouldnt pay for replacing the windows but I allways look for a cheaper resolution is all. Sorry if that offended anyone.

My front window are being replaced now don't know the price yet. Its a friend at work
