Canvas Waterproofing - What Works Best

I'm getting my cockpit cover repaired and I was wondering if you had any recommendations for canvas waterproofing. Amazon reviews say Starbrite is pretty good.
What products are good and how did you apply it??

Careful... There are 2 different versions of 303. One for fabric and the other for Vinyl. You need the fabric one.

Yeah, another vote for 303 High Tech Fabric Guard. I have tried others. Aqua-tite and even the Starbrite doesn't last as well as the 303. Good choice.

I have always used the 303 over the years. This year the gallon fabric guard was up in price again when I needed it so I decided to try the Starbrite. The aft canvas that I got with my boat pretty much lost it's ability to repel water and was old so I figured why not try it. After a good soaking coat and dry time I am happy with the results so far. the water is clearly beading and even pudding above the canvas in small pockets at the bottom. While it's to early to say how long it will last I am satisfied with the results so far.

I do see that the 303 prices have come back to reality again - probably a supply and demand response in the spring for the higher price.

I'm still on the fence (even after years) with waterproofing. Its nice having the water roll off but this stuff also sheds. It leaves oily black streaks that will only come off with a mild polish-yes this is the product not dirt. Also seems to leave the adjacent areas slick which is sometimes dangerous.
BUT if you do it take the top down, wash with a powerwasher and then lay it on the lawn. Use a garden sprayer to apply. WAY easier and quicker! 303 and Starbrite I've used both.
Use caution around isinglass as this stuff reacts with it and causes a wrinkle effect.
