I've searched and searched but I can't find the proper repair procedure for a sloppy snap in the fiberglass. I think it involves filling the oversized hole and redrilling but I'm not sure which product to use or how large the hole should be? Any help would be appreciated.

I have seen people use a piece of wood like toothpick and reinstall the snap or fill with a exterior caulk, let it dry and then reinstall the snap. The second method would be my preference

I have also found snaps with the next larger size screw Like a #8 instead of #6. Worked for me. I don't remember whether I found them at West Marine or Boat Owners' Warehouse.

I just repaired one today by placing a 3"x3" piece of treated wood ( smeared with 3m 5200 sealant ) behind and running the screw/ snap into it. Obviously you need access behind the affected snap.
