I am looking to get a mooring cover made for my boat and can't find any that are production made for it. It's prob. too old. Does anyone know of any local canvas guys that would do it with good quality, reasonable price? What should I expect to pay also? Thanks!

MA does good work but is expensive. I have used a couple of different places over the years. The guy that owns Leading Edge was an employee at MA before
hestarted his own business.

North Shore Marina in grand haven does excellent work. May be a little pricey. Canvas King in spring lake does good work, much cheaper. I had canvas king make my "throw away" aft curtain. It was around $850 where as the factory original which is still in its bag was $2,000. Both are sunbrella, but the one from Tiara is noticebly better with heavier reinforcement webbing at stress points and stainless steel snaps instead of brass. You get what you pay for, but an aft curtain for our boat is simply there to keep the dirt and weather out. We use it for privacy occassionally when cruising, but use our drop curtain all the time. It still looks brand new because the aft curtain takes most of the wear and tear.

Try Marc at White Lake Canvas 231-893-4093, Whitehall, Mi, he has made two complete camper tops for me on two different boats.

Wow, thanks for the great replies guys. I really appreciate it - I am looking to save some dough on this thing, but that is worthless if the quality isn't there. I'll check these guys out. It's surprising how much canvas costs, all my other boats came with the full canvas package. That's a little bigger deal to me now!

Miller's made a complete camper canvas for my slip mate's 270 DA last spring. It's better than what you get at the factory, for much less $'s.

Any recent comments? I have a 1994 370 Sundancer with half a dozen zippers failing and several seems split and getting worse. Will check with those name mentioned but need to act now to keep water out of boat as top failed this week leaving me open to rain.

Grand Isle Marina in Grand Haven recommends a guy named "Marc" but I suspect that isn't the least expensive option :)
