Just cleaned the interior carpet of our ACMY and want to protect the stairs. They seem to be the hardest to keep clean. Has anyone used snapped in canvas carpet protectors. My wife is thinking of making them and wondering if anyone has had success doing this.

I have canvas cabin carpet protectors and they work well.

Tim,

We have canvas protecting our cabin carpets, including the stairs. Carpets in the '97 still look far better than they should as a result.

Ditto! They work well and I just pop them in the washing machine every couple weeks to clean them.

Just wondering, do the canvas covers cover the lip of the stairs or just the flat portion? And are there more than 4 snaps in the corners?
We're trying to make them ourselves.

Same here and yes I agree they work great. They wrap over the lip of the tread so the snap is on the bottom side of the overhang. There was 4 snaps on each tread and 6 (I recall) on the main floor. When they get dirty I just chucked them in the washing machine and they looked like new again. Easy.

* The 290 has only one on the main floor and vinyl treads.
