Canvas Camper Top refurb?

Has anyone ever used A-100 acrylic paint trip put a new finish on the canvas? I read somewhere on here that this was suggested and that it can actually work.

Let me know if you find out any further information about it. Is this supposed to bring back the color? I guess my concern is the preparation prior to applying.
