I love my 2001 260 Sundancer with it's 6.2 L MPI engine and Bravo 3 outdrive. My problem is that even with my trim tabs down and my outdrive tilted as high as I dare, I idle along at 4 to 5 mph which is too fast for occational fishing with my downriggers. I have thought of a drift sock off the back, but that would interfere with the fishing. Does anyone have an idea? It idles at recommended rpm but can it be set lower? Thanks for any input

It is an expensive solution but you could get a second set of props to put on when you know you will be fishing. You would be more subject to hitting the rev limiters if you did need to run a long distance however.

Try a trolling plate, but first have you tried the drift sock off the side or bow cleats?Perhaps two smaller socks off the mid or bow cleats will be a better setup for your style fishing.

I figure if the fish is too fat to keep up and grab the lure, it's not worth eating! :)

Troll with one engine. That's what I do with my 330. Gets me about 2.5 mph.

never mind I see you have a single.
