Help can a cigar burn in my burbor snap in carpet be repaired ? If not i will have to buy all new because one new piece would not look good with the rest older.

You could stop smoking cigars on the boat. But, since your sig shows you are boatless how did you manage to burn a hole in a carpet you don't have?

Very unlikely, it is a hazard of the pleasure of billowing plumes of fragrant smoke. Lucky you didn't spill your straight scotch and burn the the entire peice of carpet.:smt043:thumbsup:

I've heard of companies that use a "cookie cutter" type of tool to cut out an irregular piece of the carpet that includes the burn mark. Then they use the same tool to cut a piece of carpet in a hidden area like a closet or from an area that is usually covered like a couch or stereo stand. They simply swap the two pieces and seam them back into the carpet. Customers reported that it was very difficult to see the seams because of the irregular shape involved. The company here was called "ACORN" which was appropriate - the owner was NUTS!

Although I don't have the specific answer, it CAN be done. I run an auto dealership and I have a interior recon vendor that does burn repairs in both upholstery and carpet. Looks good as new. I'll try to find out the technique and product and report back.

BTW, +1 on burning the SR Logo :smt043
