Can I connect my smartcraft to my 5208 Garmin

I purchased and installed a new 5208 Garmin touch screen chartplotter gps. I was wondering if I can connect my smart craft to it to utilize the sonar and other features.

If your 5208 supports the NMEA 2000 Network connections to support the function, you will need a Twin Engine model MercMonitor to act as a Gateway from SC to N2K. This runs about $950. I have not yet done this mod but it is on my list. You can call Merc for more details and compatibility information.

This is the only way I know of to transfer SC Data to other devices. The exception is if you have a Northstar Plotter they have a Gateway. Just added this as FYI Info.
