Can anyone suggest a good bluetooth adapter so I can control music from iphone?

I'm still confused on what is best to get for myself. I thought the OP asked an exellent question, perfectly in the thread title, one I've asked here before. He wants to Bluetooth connect and still control the ipad. Connections available are variable but when this question is asked invariably cigarette lighter Bluetooth adapters and auxiliary connections are suggested by some. These will not work with the ipad if the user wants control.

The only connection that allows that function is the USB cord from the Clarion plugged to the ipad charge cord. How can I do this Bluetooth?

Mike, you can indeed control from the iPad or any device being used with the Fusion BT -100, that's the beauty of the setup.

No, you can only control from the device connected via Bluetooth which was the question; or at least how I understood it.

So I'm playing Pandora on the ipad and want to skip a song on my M-1 remote, can I?

I can do this hard wired. Thanks for your input.

Thats pretty cool, thanks for sharing... I think for Mike it's about using his existing wired remote however.

I've never notice this in my car bluetooth, but on the unit I bought the volume control on the phone still works. Is that the way blue tooth usually works? I've been using the iPhone connector on the bottom so it was always line out.

Mike I think you are correct... but let me try to clarify. If you want to use a remote of some kind (leave the ipod in the cabin and change it remotely), the Bluetooth solution I was describing will not work.

If you use the solution I described, you have the iDevice in your hand communicating back to the BT receiver in/connected to the stereo via Bluetooth (replacing the hard wire connection) so you have full control and functionality. Its basically like operating your ipod connected to earbuds, but instead of earbuds, there is a Bluetooth connection feeding the stereo. Whatever you would normally hear/do with the ipod operates the same.

I'm not sure that is what he was asking for. First he said iphone in the title and then talked about pandora in the post itself. That lead me to believe he was keeping phone in hand at the helm.

For you that is a different story. Seems you want to leave the ipad/ipod/iphone somewhere else and control with a remote. Is that correct?

I want to connect the device to the Clarion via Bluetooth and control the device with the Clarion system. My system is a head unit, a wired helm remote, and a RF remote. I can then lay out on the bow, listen to tunes, and only risk a waterproof remote on a big float. No phones or pads in peril. BUT they can now be nearer in the cockpit, rather than buried down in the cabin plugged into the head unit.

Thanks for the replies.
