Can a table post be shortened?

The pole is 27”. I checked online and most replacement fixed length pole and base kits are 27” or 29”. An RV/Marine company called ITC sells a 25.5” (as well as a 27 and 29).

A quick search revealed this:

You may be able to find the option you need there.

I have a 25 I’d trade you out if the 2” is enough to help
Well. I’ll be. I double checked the lengths of my two spares. One is 30” (inside salon table) and one is the needed 25” (bridge U bench seat table). Looks like standard seat to tabletop distance at home is 12”. I’m at 13.75” at the dinette. So the 25” is what I need. Only bad news is my 25” is beat up on the bottom from having to use channel locks to get it out of the base from 15 years of salt air fusing it together.

I apologize for wasting everyone’s time on this. But I do appreciate all of the ideas.

How about a piece of pvc painted silver or https://www.zoro.com/rust-oleum-11-...QZS1JplSO1dKw3ELGexoCgdIQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds slid over the pole before you put the top back on.

Great idea. My wife said the same. We’ll make or buy a nice decorative sleeve for the pole.

I’ll post a before and after with a person in the seat to show the difference.

As a reward for tolerating me, here are some pictures.

1. Stock 27” pole and table
2. No table
3. 25” pole with salon table
4. 25” pole with factory table

No worries - I can't see it from my boat ;)
