I'm looking at purchasing a camper top or enclosure for my '07 210 Select. Can anyone out there give me pros/cons on a camper top/enclosure? Are they worth the price? Is there enough standing room with just an enclosure? How's the windows hold up? Does it scratch easy? Easy to install?

If you want to boat all winter in Georgia, then by all means consider one. I find it very enjoyable to be on the lake in the winter and pretty much have it all to myself. When its clear and sunny and in the 40's you will be in your shirt sleeves at 75 degrees under the camper canvas. As far as roominess goes you can pretty much figure that out yourself since all the panels zipper to your Bimini Top. Keep your bow cover in place and you have the whole cockpit to use. You can generally run at speds up to 45mph with the camper canvas in place. The Isenglass windows will hold up fine as long as you keep them clean and keep sheets or towels between the panels when you roll them up for storage. Spray the Isenglass occasionally with 303 Protectant and they will last for years. Check out this link on the care of Isenglass panels. http://www.hotlib.com/articles/show.php?t=The_Care_and_Feeding_of_Your_Clear_Vinyl_Boat_Windows

I say yes it is worth it, I can install mine by myself in about 15 min. If it is stored in the cold you need to let it warm up a little so you can hook everything up. A little while in the sun will work nicely. I put mine on in Feb and we rode out to the Atlantic and back as Dave said in our shirt sleeves and it was cloudy that day. I have a couple of photos at my dock after I got back in posted in the gallery. If you can walk around under the bimini you can walk around with the enclosure. I had to have mine custom made and I have Strataglass and the care is different to Isenglass, so be sure which you have when you get it.

When I purchased my 225 WE, the fact that the boat had the camper enclosure, sealed the deal. We are looking forward to November, December, January here on Lake Lanier, nice quiet boating....ha! Good luck with your "upgrade", I am sure you will love the enclosure

Not sure if you can tell but here is two pictures of me boating on Lake Chatuge in North GA when it had ice on it back in Feb 2007

Could not have done it without the full camper. I've also added an inverter and with a small heater just to take the chill off before I get in the sun works great.

The guy at MM is telling me that a full enclosure is the same as a camper top. I had to send him the Great Lake web sites to convince him there is a difference. And these are the techs working on my boat!! :-(
