The wife and I have been working on a system to protect our new Great Lakes Canvas for the 280SS. We are using fleece as layers between the canvas and glass pieces with a pocket for a 1 inch PVC pipe to help roll the packages together to put in the custom stuffing tubes. Notice the nice embroidery. Other than keeping the packing materials clean does any one see a problem that we might have overlooked? The tubes are made from outdoor flag material. None of the materials should transfer any color to the canvas since they are all plastic based.

Where do you plan to keep them and will they stay dry?

I like the idea as storing my canvas is an issue, but there is always a chance that anything will get at least a little wet on my boat and my fear would be mold at that point.

As long as you can stow it dry, it sounds ideal....just a note, After years of using Pledge, thanks to this forum, I found a product called Plexis last year and love it...

BTW - Nice touch on the embroidery!

Pledge or Plexis??? I finally put up my camper enclosure - may be like the second or third time since it was purchased by the original owner... glass looks good, just a little dirty.

I am planning to stow the long rolled glass on the little shelf in the cabin behind the seats have not checked to see if it is long enough. The others are all about the same size so I am thinking about a big bag of some sort. I have not worked out all of the details yet. Mainly wanted to get them protected because the plastic bags they came in where just not working.

They remind me of sail bags. I guess it is okay to take good ideas from our blow boat friends.

How does everyone else care for the canvas when not up?

Actually did the opposite. I wrap the canvas in flease and place it into 4'' PVC tubes cut to length. I am not quite sure how this will work because I have not had an oppertunity to look for place to stow the PVC tubes (may be a problem) It is winter here in Michigan. We will see what happens in the spring.
