I went cheap to start out. I got some from a local sporting goods store for about $40. They work just as good as my son's high dollar GoPros but I don't have to worry as much if I have one go overboard. As much. When I was heavy into rocketry, there was guys that would put the expensive cameras in their rockets. They felt the higher the price, the better chances of getting mast mach. I used the cheap ones and never had the issue of mach 2.0 or transitioning from a complex two stage. Sometimes there would be an issue after booster burn out and sustainer ignition, that would cause the cameras to lose video. Or the motor coming up to pressure, would cause a hard push and things would fall apart.
So, for just starting out, I chose to go cheap.
