Calling all 360 DA owners

I am currently planning to install engineered hardwood flooring in the salon of my Sea Ray 360. Has anyone done this? If so do you have pictures and any advice regarding the install, working with the two hatches and what type of glue/caulking did you use.
Most thankful for your reply

Hey guys I've enjoyed reading all the posts and have learned some great information. We're looking at a 2002 360 in Puerto Rico with the Yanmar diesels and would appreciate any feedback on key items to inspect, watch outs, etc.
Many thanks,
John

Hi Jo,

I'd go with hull, stuffing boxes, prop shafts, engines, generator, for the main items. the 2002's in Gas are going for ballpark 100k around New England. But make sure you get it surveyed by a reputable guy.

Good luck and let us know how how it goes.

There was a guy from the Netherlands on here that had diesels. Check page 1 and maybe you can PM him. Yanmars were not typically sold in the USA but there are a few. I sold my 360 thru MarineMax and I understand 2 guys from Chicago bought it. So if you guys see a boat name Notorious in Chicago it was mine originally. I hope they enjoy it.

Thanks Daryl I'll check. By the way I used to boat on Texoma. Had a sailboat at the time, Beneteau 393, that I kept at Highport.

Hi again guys...I have an electrical type scenario I need some input on. The marina launched the new to us boat last week and after charging the batts overnight with the onboard charger, I opened the er hatch to find one of the batteries venting vapour..shut the charger/batteries off. Short story, replaced the 4 batteries and things are good.
Question: On the DC power panel in the cabin, should I read batt voltage all the time, just when the batts are on, or just when the engines run?
The amperage draw seems to read ok.
Could the charger have been damaged during the initial charging phase [after launch] when the battery was cooked?? Thoughts??
tks

Timeflys - very possible that you had a battery sulfate (salt deposits on the plates). To verify it's not your charger cooking the batteries check the output voltage and check the switch to select flooded / gel / agm batts. The gel and agm require a higher voltage that could cook your flooded bats. WRT monitoring seems from past discussions on similar forums it's a personal choice. For me, I do leave the gauges on and check voltage when ever I open the panel. MHO only though.

A question for the group as well - what is the largest chartplotter that anyone has surface mounted on the flat panel to the left of the steering wheel. The eyes are getting old and would like to get the biggest possible.

As as always many thanks for the support,
John

I had my speakers and a new head unit replaced last fall. At that, I left the factory amp. Now I think I want to replace it with a 5 channel amp. I had the company that did my work last fall, come look at the amp and give me an estimate. He said, I needed to run a heavier guage wire for power to the amp. There apparently is a fuse bus close, so it doesn't need to run to the batteries. He also said it appears that that cockpit speakers must have the wires spliced because there are only 2 sets of wires coming from the cockpit speakers....and a set from the subwoofer. So to get the benefit from a 5 channel amp, I need to run speaker wire to each speaker. Has anyone else found that do not have separate wires running from each speaker? It seems kind of odd that Sea Ray would wire the speakers with that kind of setup.

Hi John,

I tried for the Garmin 7212 and its just 1/4 inch too big to fit so I had to go with the 8208 but the screen's outer edge and the units outer edge are two different things. BUT the touch screen being able to pinch and stretch might be just the ticket for you. I'll post pics later today.

Hi everyone. I am in the process of researching what Davits to install on my swim platform. Does anyone know the depth of the platform? The overall length of the boat is 39'. I'm assuming the platform would be 3 '? Ant insight would be appreciated. Otherwise it will have to wait until the weekend until I can measure.

Without going down to my boat and measuring, I would agree that the platform is 3'. The diagram in the owners manual shows overall length at 36' and LOA with swim platform at 39'.

The depth of the platform at the centerline of the boat on my 2003 was 33-1/2". That was from the stainless insert in the rubrail to the rear of the platform. In other words, useable space when figuring how far back the dinghy had to be in order to be able to step between the transom of the boat and the dinghy when the dinghy was on the platform.

Does anyone know the location of the elusive hot water heater? I've been all over in and out of her and it still eludes me. I have a switch in the panel for it, I turn it on and no extra draw happens. And when I try the hot water side of the faucets I get no water at all. I'm wondering if the previous owner took it out and plugged the lines.

Thanks in advance

It is under the bench seat in the aft berth area. I couldn't find it for the longest time. Pull off the piece of sofa cushion that is on the backrest and then the pull out bench can be flipped up (you will need something to prop it up while you work in the hold - I use one of the hold covers - they are just about the right size).

It could be that the valve is turned off. There are several in/out valve in the center compartment with the heater. Not much room to work in there but you will be able to see it all and see what it going on.

Son of a gun! Thanks Scott, that's one area I haven't been all through. I'll start poking around.

Hey guys if you were going to run a wire from the electrical panel to the port side galley tv any suggestions on what route to take? I have to run 2 HDMI cables one to the stateroom tv and one to the galley tv from the panel and I'm knocking and looking all over but not finding a clear route.

Quick question..what exactly does the "Searay systems monitor" monitor on the 2002 model??? [Large black display to the immediate left of the steering wheel] Didn't see a reference to it in the owners manual. Thanks
