Calling all 360 DA owners

I jsut have time for a quick reply but I think if you do a search (not jsut on the 360 thread) you will find an answer to this question - others have had the sameproblem. MY recollection is that if you turn the freezer thermostat UP it will resolve the probelm. I think if the thermostat is turned all the way down for maximum freezing it causes the condensation problem. There is a sweet spot to keeping food frozen but not having the thermostat turned all the way down.

We had this problem too, until I put a thermometer in the freezer and realized I had it turned down WAY too cold! If I keep it somewhere near 0 degrees F and 15 degrees F I no longer get any condensation. My suggestion is to get one of those digital thermometers that keeps track of max/min and find your setting.

Fellow 360 owners, anyone ever have to repair water tank filler hose? I discovered water on the carpet on the starboard side right in front of the closet, as well in what we call our wine celler, the storage area in the foor in front of the bed. Turns out, after removing some panel access covers, i discovered that the filler hose has a leak.

Anyone of you have a condensation problem with the cabin freezer ? Mind just leak water into the drawer under the freezer. Any suggestions how to fix this ?

Thanks,
Hugo

This came up a while back, as stated above. I had the problem with condensation also, and when I shot the temperature, I was shocked at how cold that freezer gets. Turned it back to setting that is shown in this pic and dripping stopped. Shot the temp again and turned it back some more. I keep it at about 1/4 turn from off. Temp runs about 10 degrees now. Also run the humidity control cycle on the A/C...that will help too. Get a thermometer or better yet, if you don't have one, an IR temp gun....there's a lot of things on a boat, especially in the ER, you can use it on.
Good luck.

5oclock,
Have not had to change the hose, but had a leak, and it allowed water to fill an inaccessible area forward of the wine cellar with water.
As you know, when the water tanks are filled to "full", the tank "bloats" out of shape, or bulges some. This caused the 90 degree ell at the tank fill to rise up against a support member for the bed (nice positioning, Sea Ray). That in turn caused the plastic weld of the insert that is made into the tank to crack at that fill inlet. When the tank was full, or near full, water woul leak out there and would fill up the area under the tank, but forward of the bulkhead between the A/C and the tank, so I couldn't see it. It then would spill into the wine cellar over the top of it's forward wall (through Sea Ray"s crappy caulk job) when the bow would rise to go on plane. :smt101 (don't ask how long it took to figure this out).
I ended up cutting some material out of the wooden bed support and plastic welding the insert with a hot glue gun...problem solved. But the water was still inside that compartment with no way to get it out.

So...If water is flowing down the fill hose from your leaky hose, and getting into that closed off section of the hull, you may want to make a cut, as I did in the top of that forward wall in the wine cellar, and check for water in there. I sucked it out with a small pump with poly tubing as a suction line. then kept an eye on it with a flash light and inspection mirror.....no more water.
That was the first year we had the boat, I did not drill a hoile at the base of the wall to drain it as I figured I would want a large enough opening to allow air to get in there and help dry thing out. Every now and again I take a peek into that "Black hole" just to make sure it's dry, If you do this, start with a small hole to check for water, then you can put a plug in it or repair it if it is dry. A larger round hole would be more desireable than my square one, It would be easier to plug in an emergency.
Good luck

The cut I made in the forward wall of the "wine cellar"...It's about 4" square

Thanks My3sons, I will look into that. My leak is between the top deck and the intake on the tank, it looks like it is at the bend of the hose. I think it is far enough aft that it could not get in the location you describe (and I would love to know how you figured that location out). I called my dealer, they have not heard of the same issue but have replaced that filler hose before on other boats. I am hoping to find the leak and cut that section out and reconect with a coupling.

Hugo I have had the same experience with the freezer, and turning up was the solution.

Thanks Guys! I think I found the sweet spot for my freezer temp. Also run the humidity control on the AC when we are away and it seams to solve the condensation issue.

My3sons, where is located the "wine cellar" ? Under the bed? Can always use more storage space!!!!

Thanks,

Hugo

It's the compartment under the floor aft of the bed between the starboard and port stateroom lockers. It goes forward partially under the bed. In the photo, that's the condensate pan drain line from the A/C coming down through the floor. It's a storage area for those of us without a bow thruster. In 5oclock's case, a wine cellar. The admiral keeps a laundry bag in ours and uses it as the "dirty clothes hamper" when on the boat for multiple days.

Hey Guys, the PO of my boat didnt leave all of the manuals on board for me. i am currently at home and want to download the radar manual. i believe i have the raymarine, E-80 - does that sound correct for my vintage boat? Thanks.

I don't know if the boats were all equipped the same, but mine is a Raymarine Pathfinder Plus RL70C, chart plotter with radar. I don't think the E80 chart plotter was available in 2003.

Hello again, question: I never use shore water through the intake in the transom, I always fill my tank and use water from there. This weekend I connected a hose to the shore connector and discovered that all water sources used the shore water except the galley sink? I have checked the manual and it does not say anything about this? This does not seem right? Thoughts? I have not checked the distribution hub in the engine compartment yet, but was curious what others have experienced?

Water enters the manifold in the ER from the tank and from the transom dockside supply.
so, if the sink works with the pump, it should work with the dockside.
When you say it didn't work on the shore water, you mean nothing came out of the faucet?
Did you shut off the water pump when using the dockside?
What year is your boat? I wonder if something may be different in later models?

Our sea ray is an 05, I tried it both ways, first I turned shore water on and tried all outlets all worked without making pump go on except galley sink. I then turned pump off and all outlets worked except the galley sink which only had a minimum flow. I may just have a slight blockage on the galley sink!

Success I replaced the water hose yesterday. The old hose did have a one inch crack in it, the only reason for the crack is either from dry rot or freezing. It was not a bad job thanks to see ray providing access holes to all areas of the hose. There are three access holes in the starboard closet in the master and then under the bed.

The captains chair on my 03', 360 Sundancer appears to be adjustable - lower or raise, but i have been messing with it and can not get it to move. Even my mechanically inclinded brother was not successfull. Can this seat be raised? I am tall, so my line of sight is in a direct line with the windshield frame, so i am hoping to either raise or lower the seat. Lots of kayaks, paddleboards, etc in SD Harbor, and i want to ensure i have the best visibiltiy possible. Thanks, Bill.

Bill, lift up on the flat lever on the left side under the chair. It should feel as though it is spring loaded, and pop back down when you release it.
when you lift up, it releases the gas cylinder that adjusts the height. Lift the lever and lift up or push the chair down to your desired position.
Unfortunately, it only has about 3 or 4 inches of travel

I have read through some of the posts about the a/c drain discharge staining the hull. I dont have too much discoloration, but it appears some of the discharge is "spewing" from the side of the drain. Can the drain be tightened up or should it be caulked? Does anyone else's drain do the same thing?

Hey Jeff,

That through hull might be cracked so removing to check it might be wise. For the staining problem, I have put pieces of hose that go in those drains about an inch and hang out about 2". Water doesn't run down the hull!

Good luck!

Dennis
