Cabin FEVER!!!

Okay it's January 2 and I think I'm losing my mind! Santa was very good to me this year. He brought me a new "Dink" which I have inflated in one bay of my garage and a new 2.5hp Suzuki outboard to power the dink. I'm planning on testing the ob today in the garage to see how it runs because there's still 12" of snow in the driveway! Waiting for Jeff W. to send me the hardware and plans for an improvised "Dom's Davit" so I can at least cut and shape the Seaboard. That should take me about 12hrs. My mechanic has had my MGB at his shop for the last 2 months waiting for an open bay to replace it's engine.:smt013 So I can't "Fiddle" with that!
You know this retirement crap is hard when the temp. is below 35 degree's, maybe I should call the Navy and tell them I'm up for a 4 month deployment. That would take me to the beginning of May and then I could do some boating.:smt038 Well, Happy New Year to all and lets hope the winter is short!

I'm heading out to the boat to start my next project, new stereo. I have to drive 50 miles but it at least gets me out of the house. Happy New Year!!

Hey Jeff, about 1/2 the snow melted so it's like slushy madness here!! Started to break in my new OB. in the driveway in a 5 gallon bucket, boy did I geat some strange looks from the neighbors!!! WTF over!

I have the same engine. Has worked well, except the lower unit has paint flaking off due to corrosion. Suzuski would not fix this, claiming excessive wear on zinc, which was total BS. The zinc was fine, white due to working properly. Anyway good engine with bad service.

Mike, I was going to buy the Honda but it's got that centrafugal clutch and heard bad things about it and it air cooled. Got the motor from portaboat real cheap w/no shipping or tax and the engine is real simple! Plus the Honda was around $400. more!

yeah, 52 here yesterday, 40 today, didn't get lower than that all night. It's slowly going down below freezing in the next 24 hrs, but we've lost almost all of our snow. (We had 10" + here prior to this heat wave - 2'+ in the mtns) We were going to go skiing today, but the trails aren't that great (except for a few of the mains where they had blown in snow, so it's rather deep and somewhat protected on those) but that gets boring after a few runs - and more than likely crowded.

Went hiking in the woods, and looking for things to take pics of with my new camera.

Then I took down all the outside xmas decorations, cleaned the garage, washed the car, truck. Tomorrow, the inside tree, and then I start the chain saw on some outside trees I've been eyeing to take down.
