My nylon slides broke on the top of my cabin door, my question is do I need to remove the dash or can the trucks be replaced while in place? 2007 280 sundancer
Thanks for any help

From what I remember, there's no way to lift the door enough to get the clearance to remove the slides, especially the one on the starboard side. Others will chime in but I think that the dash needs to be moved out of the way to get the door out completely.

I think Paul (PMC) did the glides/trucks on his last boat (280) without removing the helm. You may want to shoot him a PM.

The tops can be done without removing the helm (atleast on my 2005 280). There are two screws on the top of the door that hold the nylon trucks in place. Remove the one closest to the opening first. Remove the screws that you can get to in the track. Slide out the truck. Then do the other one. Reverse the proceudre to install and you're good to go.

does anyone know where to order the trucks only, not the rials ?

I got mine from our local MM dealer. Hopefully you're sitting down when they give you the price. :smt101

I got mine from Teak Isle mfg. I believe flounder pounder now carries them as well. I have also seen them on eBay. Just be sure to get the right ones. Mine were two different heights. Your mileage may vary.

Thanks for the info, I ordered from fpmarine.com two nylon slides (trucks) and was able to fish the broken one's out. The new ones are 15.00 each and are not predrilled but very easy to drill, just under size the hole and tap the lock nut in and it went fine.
Never had to remove the door it lifts up enough to see and guide the screw into the hole.
My only hicup was I had 4 washer/spacers installed over the glides and was not sure if I needed them to be installed on the new one's. I chatted with fp marine and we decided to install them just incase some one previously adjusted the door bottom rollers and may cause a problem if not installed.
Works great now.

I ordered trucks from Boat Outfitters. Look under Hardware/trucks.
Good luck
