Anyone know how involved it is to replace the trucks on the cabin entry door on a 1995 290 Sundancer?

I was wondering the same thing for a 1997 330. They roll fine, but they're pretty loud (squeaky) and wake our 6 month old sleeping in the cabin.

WileyCoyote just did a complete tear down on his boat last summer to replace his. I don't recall if your boats' age has the similar rollers or not.

Jeremy, the owner of the old forum once posted detailed step by step instructions for the 280 Sundancer.

Possibly someone here remembers it and has a copy or can find this post?

It involved removing a lot of stuff, including the throttles and helm. From memory, it’s a 15 hour job.

Since reading that post I have been committed to cleaning and lubricating the track often with tri-flow track lubricant, intended to lubricate RV slide out tracks and sold at Walmart.

Once a year in spring I give the tracks a deep washing then over apply the lubricant, significantly over spraying it as it runs out the end of the track and as I’m moving the door back and forth. I spray from both sides by each roller.

This is followed by cleaning up the oily mess that poured out the end of the track.

I tried many different lubricants, some attracted dirt, and others did not work well. This tri-flow product is in the middle, it does not work as well as WD40 and it attracts some gunk just not as much as WD40. I’m not going to say Tri-flow is the best product for this job, it’s just the best product that I have tried and I have tried a lot of different lubricants.

While we are talking about the 280 Sliding door, has anyone had to tighten/replace the handle? Mine is starting to be just a tad loose, and I see no way to tighten it without:
A- removing the door to remove the pad to tighten the nuts (NOT!)
B - Cutting a small hole in the padding, to access the fastener, then cover with a cap of some sort. (Hate that thought.)

I would love to remove it, and have an extra brace added to it to give it more support.
Thanks,
Mike

I purchased my rollers from Teak Isle Mfg. They are now the manufacturer for these products 3x removed from the original mfr. Here is their link:

The fellow I dealt with was Jim Cox. Just make sure the heights and hole taps are correct as mine were wrong, even on the replacements. The tap size was 10/24 so no worries as I tapped them myself. I replaced my tracks too while I had the whole thing disassembled. I had seen several posts on here of people developing cracks in theirs which required replacement. You may want to consider this option too. Good luck!

Ippa2- If you go to my home page here I posted some pics of my job in progress. You may find them helpful, I know others did!

I'm glad it was helpful. I originally found Teak Isle through someone else on this site in " The official 330 Thread". This site is awesome with all the help and info from others!!
