The orginal cushions in our 1992 sundancer on the v-bith and aft bed always seem to stay damp. The carpet and mid cabin seat are dry, but the softer cusions never seem to loose the dampness feeling. Any suggestions?

Hi. I noticed the same thing with our v-berth cushions early this spring. It turned out to be condensation from the hull/bilge storage which was being absorbed by the cushion edges that rested on it. It is not happening anymore now that it is summer.

another possibility is the stanchions for the bow rails need resealed. We got caught in a rain last weekend and I noticed a drip from the bolt heads visible in the cabin. I unbolted them one at a time and resealed with 3m 5200.

Dry Cushens

We keep a small fan on in the cabin whenever we park the boat to keep the air moving in the cabin

I had a similar problem that vexed me for a while on a 215 i had....I used a gel kind of stuff (cant remember the name) that absorbs moisture. It worked great til i fixed the problem....ok i admit it,I didnt fix it..... the problem just disappeared for some reason...
but thegel worked GREAT.....damp-rid maybe???? :smt017

I bought a circular heater/air dryer from west marine that works off if 110v and placed it on the cabin floor under the dinete table. I also keep the fan running and the dampness has gone away for now. We will see if it comes back.
