Cabin Bilge water issue

I would like to thank Mrsrobinson and KVDuff for the advice they gave. KV mentioned the AC system and Mrsrobinson led me to close the seacock and strainer for the AC. Well last night before hitting the sack the water would only get up to a half inch vs 1.25. Well this morning I used the wet vac twice and now the water is slowed to a trickle and barely covering the bottom of the area. I will wait today and see if it sticks there. But if if does I have to assume it was the AC raw water inlet.

What is strange to me is how it could get up there and that far into my boat when the AC isnt running. The only thing I can think of is that that inlet is so far down under the waterline that water goes up near the top and moves on toward the front until it levels out with the water line inside that bilge compartment. I sure hope this does it. Now the issue is finding out why and closing off the leak so I can use the AC because it gets hot in the summer here and we do do weekends or weeks at marinas when it is hot.

I still have not found the source of the water in the bow thruster bilge but it has to be the tube even tho it seems to be coming from the floor. But I will work on that.

Thanks to all and I owe you big time. This place is the best !

One last thing before I declare victory over this. The tide has been really low since the water in the compartment went down. When it rises later today and if it stays really low in that area then I think we identified it. If when the tide rises and it rises then back to square one. But then I would know it is coming from outside the boat in some inlet somewhere.

The tide won't change anything. The boat is at the same level regardless of tide...

My dumb azz! I mentioned it because when the tide gets low on my canal it is almost on the bottom. But you are correct since the boat is still floating it is what it is. Thanks!

Hello Stpetelsu64,

Hope you have made progress!

sorry for some reason my last response didnt show up correctly. below is the answer

Thanks for the follow up. Boat is in shop now getting the battery chargers installed. They are going to look at that front compartment where the bow thruster is which I still have not found. But the main problem was the one toward the rear and the water went from immediately filling back to 1.25 inches to barely any water at all. Some is still coming in but so minimal that there is no concern. I think turning off the seacock to the AC immediately cut the flow off. And I sure appreciate the help on here.
