C-Lift

I have no experience with this product and this is strictly my opinion. I would say you get what you pay for plus I personally wouldn't put those on my brand new boat. Just my .02

You have a beautiful 08 38 footer......I just put the Hurley system on and it works real well for the price.....I would look at that system or another system in that range

I would not put that on my new 380DA! Hurley or something like that. JC

Thanks guys. What do you think of the Weaver system?

Mike

Come on all you davit experts. For our 38DA do you think the Hurley or Weaver is best? The 38DA has the transom door in the center that opens outward which can cause problems getting in/off the boat.

Mike, I owned a 38 and I now have the Hurley davits on my 44DB. I like the Hurleys. Here's what I do to create room on my platform without having to launch the dink. I've got two straps that are pre-measured to hold the dink on the davits at about a 45 degree angle. When I'm under way I tighten the straps to the "hold down" position. As soon as I need to access the swim platform, I loosen the strap to the tilt position.

I'm going to the boat this weekend. I can take pictures and e-mail them to you. It's actually a pretty simple rig, it's just not easy to describe. This should give you enough room to open the transom door.

Larry,

Thanks. Hope you can get those pictures.

Larry,
I own an '07 44 DB and would love to see the pics of what you did with yours. I've been focused on hydro swim plats and still may go that direction, but would love to see what you did with yours and the size of the dinghy you have on it. I presume no problems with planing or any other performance drawbacks?
thanks.

Hugo, I posted some pics on the "Hurley Davits" thread. I've got higher res photos I can email you. My dink is an Achilles 9.5 foot, Aluminum roll up with an 8 HP, four stroke engine. The whole setup weighs right at 200 pounds. I just bought a 10 foot Avon RIB Lite with the fold up transom. I'm going to need to slightly modify my davits to accommodate two rails that run the length of the hull, but I'm still happy with them.
